The Last Post

Last night The Last Post was sounded at The Menin Gate for the 25,000th time since the end of WW1.

Armistice Day is on the 11th.

This painting makes me cry every time I visit the war memorial in Canberra.

I can see why, what a stunning piece of art work, so very evocative, and even though it's a sad subject, it's pride mixed with sorrow and duty.
