That's interesting. Advertisers here in the U.S. typically avoid even the mildest of curse words. Maybe I just misunderstand the severity of the usage of "bugger" in Australia. At least where I live (Midwest), it's a diminutive, usually used to refer to rascally children or animals, or mildly frustrating inanimate objects. It was my understanding that the word means something quite different in the UK and Oceania.

The word has a lot of uses here. Swatting a fly: "Got the bugger!" Noisy kids "Will you noisy buggers get out side?" You want someone to stop wasting time "Stop playing silly-buggers" Something bad happens "Ah, bugger"

It's a good word, and very mild here in Aus.
