Royal Australian Mint announces the release of the new holographic $1 coin.



They will be available in the proof sets. I wonder if they'll hit circulation with the standard $1 coins.

That is breathtaking!!! Heh, and here we sit, with our moron Governor trying to decide between a tree and a Southern California beach scene for the California Quarter. Ugh.

My immediate thought is to go for a sequoia. They are at least a West Coast thing. You want a beach scene, buy a tea towel.
