denI remember when Lasers started appearing in a big way. At first they were a Lab thing that scientists played around with. "Hey! We can bounce them off mirrors on the moon!" was pretty cool. "Hey we can make holograms!" was bloody amazing I wanted the one that exploded things. Scientists had them. The thing went ZAP and the target went BLAM! I wanted a laser, preferably in a handy gun so I could explode things. ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!
Now I have 3 lasers. 3!
Two of them are mounted in little boxes, and shine through revolving mirrors. They create a flat disc of red light and are used to take levels during surveys.
The third is on a key ring and is used to point at screens and things.
What a let down.

Date: 27 Nov 2003 05:52 (UTC)Duct tape one to a pair of binoculars and go to the window of a tall building.
It's really funny to see how people react when this little
red dot is hitting the pavement 3 feet in front of them as
they're walking around.
You will just not believe just how easy it would be to aim a weapon of some sort.with a laser site on it. :/
