I'm a seasonal weather geek. I don't give a damn if it's going to be hot and sunny, but if there's even a mininscule margin of a sliver of a chance that it might possibly snow, I'm all over that. :) The headphone-tape-player-things that I had to get for class have a button on them that tunes the radio-thing to the weather broadcasts! Bliss... I can sit there in class on my break and listen to the silly automated voice read off the weather products. happy sigh

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has conducted their annual summer web page re-design, once again making it impossible for me to see the forecast discussions. The forecast products are okay, but the discussions are where it's really at - they're the messages that the weather scientist guys send to each other, saying things like "This front is predicted to drop to 30 degrees, but I've never seen one like this do that before, so I'm going to scale the temp projections up" and "Okay, this is going to bring some seriously cold weather - bundle up!" Sometimes they argue with each other, on an hourly-dispatch timetable. It's great! Now, if I can just find it again...
