Love that shoulder patch. 9EBS fly the B1, one of my favourite planes.

"Electrinic Bomber Squardon." I think they drop AOL cds on the enemy, but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Wow, awesome patch :-) We called those things the Batplane way back when for obious reasons. I never saw the flight crew's shoulder patch though being a ground pounder and all, that patch rocks :)

Some of the F-117A crew patches are pretty wild stuff too, though I never was able to get one of the guys "lubricated" enough to float one to the surface, something about Saudi Arabia being a "dry" (understatement!) country and all, sniff sniff... ;-)

It was picked up at the Hickam Air Show so the pilot may have been inclined to "lend" it. Ionotter has something else influential going for him but I won't say what. I have a B1 patch! *snoopy-dance*

:-D Ye ghods above, I haven't been to Hickam for at least 25 years, maybe more, since I was a bubblehead out of Pearl Harbor.

That name just shook a lot of dust off the rafter above, tnx :-)

It does, doesn't it! That may be a recent addition to the squadran patch.

The lights in the corner are actually search lights. The original unit emblem was approved in 1932. The official 9th Bomb Squadron emblem (http://www.dyess.af.mil/main/multimedia/unitemblems/EMBWEB/9thjg.htm) is black ground and gray sky with white search lights forming the Roman numeral 9, a legacy of the squadron's World War I service. The patch Den's pictured is most likely an unofficial (i.e. unapproved, the approval process is lengthy, complicated and costly, so it is frequently ignored) patch for the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron. Something the unit would wear overseas to designate it's deployed status.

I think the specialty patches are the coolest.

I've got to admit, I'm a bigger fan of the BUFF than the BOne, but thats because I got to fly on the BUFF.

That dreaded desk always gets you in the end.

Ohhhh very cool :)

I'd castrate myself for the chance to get to fly one of those things :P
