Aargh. It's midnight and the local radio station 2DU just played Agadoo, right before I go to bed. "Agadoo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree." What the hell does that mean? "Agadoo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee, To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees," I HATE EUROVISION SONGS THAT BECOME HITS.

Now I have to counter it with the Spitting Image piss-take version.

Also Agadoo was never a Eurovision entry - Black Lace made a small fortune doing silly songs your gran will dance to for the party circuit. Agadoo was just their biggest hit.

I saw the filmclip when SI had its short run out here so I've never heard the B. Is it just as silly?

For some reason I confused Black Lace with Bucks Fizz. I can't think why. But the fact that Black Lace made more songs... me and a cricket bat, in a room, with them.

I've never encountered someone using the term "ear worm" in English, but I was tickled when I first encountered the term in German (Ohrwurm).

Yep. When I first heard the term, I thought the person had made it up, but was pleased to find out that it was in general use. It's a lot easier than trying to figure out how to say "a song that gets into your head and you can't stop thinking about it" in German. Is "Ear Worm" in general use where you live?

Not really. I read it in alt.callahans and it was such an appropriate term. and it is a lot eaiser than saysing "a song that gets into your head and you can't stop thinking about it."
