Both Australia and the United States have been relatively free from terrorism. For people in London however it was (and possibly still is) a fact of life. I missed being the target of three IRA attacks while working in London many years ago (bombs on the London Underground).

There was also the Bader-Meinhof gang, who decided to take their own lives. The IRA have done terrible things in Northern Ireland and indeed within the United Kingdom.

One of the dead was a Kiwi, and ten other NZ'ers were injured. Their crime -- being Fonterra employees on a training course in Jakarta.
