I saw the plane make it! I was too slow with the camera, otherwise we'd see a brilliant orange streak with a shiney red dot at the front.

I thought it was a giant sickle in the sky, presumably to be followed by a correspondingly large hammer. You know, like the Bat Symbol, only for communists.

It's a vapor dragon! You can just barely make out the wings (another dark low-altitude cloud roughly perpendicular to the contrail).

Considering where it was taken (Australia) I'd suspect it was a shot of the underside of the Rainbow Serpent. :)
