It's been a good week when you don't have to kill anything. (not puggle related)

I've just had to kill two galahs. Euthanase is the nice way of putting it, but it is still a deliberate act of ending a bird's life. I rammed wads of tissues into the bottom of toilet rolls, added chloroform and shoved the birds' head inside, and held them there until they died. One galah was dying anyway, I could see that. I just sped things along. The other bird had a shattered wrist and would never fly.

I know I did the right thing but I still feel like crap.

*hugs a fruitbat* I'm sorry, Den - easing the suffering of any being in that way is never easy; it took courage to do it, though. Thank you for being one of the few who would do it as kindly as you have done.
