It's been a good week when you don't have to kill anything. (not puggle related)

I've just had to kill two galahs. Euthanase is the nice way of putting it, but it is still a deliberate act of ending a bird's life. I rammed wads of tissues into the bottom of toilet rolls, added chloroform and shoved the birds' head inside, and held them there until they died. One galah was dying anyway, I could see that. I just sped things along. The other bird had a shattered wrist and would never fly.

I know I did the right thing but I still feel like crap.

It was the best thing to do, but now you should expect the usual barrage of angry emails, eh?

I'm sorry, Den.

Sorry, Mate. :(

Sometimes doing the right thing isn't easy, is it?

It sucks when doing the right thing means you feel like crap, but unfortunately, that usually seems to be the way of it. I'm sorry. But I'm still glad that there are people like you out there doing the right thing.

*hug*

They really are much better off not suffering. They spent their final time with another being who could truly appreciate and care for them and they know that.

*hugs a fruitbat* I'm sorry, Den - easing the suffering of any being in that way is never easy; it took courage to do it, though. Thank you for being one of the few who would do it as kindly as you have done.

Aw, mate. Here's a *hug* and a Monteiths Black for you.

Poor galahs. :(

You helped them, though.

The right thing sometimes does feel like crap. Life doesn't end, just changes.

*hugs offered* I'm sorry. I know it's hard, but you did what had to be done. They're no longer in pain.
Thank you for doing a job that most people can't stomach.
