It's just a variation on an old trick I saw back in the 60's. A tap with no pipework suspended in mid air by very thin wires, with water flowing out of it continuously. The secret was a clear plastic pipe running up the middle of the flow which pumped water into the nozzle of the tap so it could flow down the outside of the pipe making it invisible. Very effective at the time, and I'm sure someone patented it as it could be seen in several plumbers shops as an advert.
