Jack has put on a lot of weight over the last week. He's ready to be released. Early tonight I placed a big pile of worms in the tent, and when I was happy he was munching away I hung the tent outside with the zipper opened. I'll check it tomorrow, but I expect he'll be gone.

Yay! :)

Just curious, do you have a count going on how many successful releases you have had?

I generally don't name bats I have to euthanase unless I have them in long-term care and they still don't recover.

So that's 36, less Eric, Milly, Bek, H-bat and I-bat. That makes 31 successful long-term rehabs, plus a 15 or so rescue/relocate/releases that required no rehab care. But I estimate 1/2 of the rescues are immediate euthanasias, or about 20 bats. That means I relaese more than I euthanise.

Which is nice.
