I was called out to this art gallery to check out a wallaby in his back yard. It was a little red-necked wallaby who had come into town for some green feed, and had settled down under the bushes. I took my binoculars and observed it, noticing that she had licked her arms a lot. She's badly stressed, and I think it's the noise of "oonz! oonz! oonz! oonz! oonz!" from the stereo next door. If she's too stressed she'll leave for better pastures.

The artist is happy to have her there and didn't want her removed.

I saw some of his didjes, and he told me he'd toured North America with Charlie MacMahon of Gondwanaland. [livejournal.com profile] lonita, he'll mail his didjes to Canada if you're interested. 8) I don't think there's an undecorated inch on any of them.

I saw some of the paintings in his current project. He's doing realistic animals in art galleries, looking at traditional paintings of themselves. Right now he's trying to figure out a water effect for the Platypus. The animal will be swimming around the gallery.

He'll do a flying fox if I commission it. Curse my lack of money!

At least I can see his murals around town

They have a band of red fur across their neck, NOT a pickup with a gun rack.

Hey! I'm back in the US as of a few hours ago, and enjoying my jetlag. Yeah, right! =/

The didjes look pretty cool, and I really love the thunder and lightning mural. How far from your place was that? Wish I'd gone to see it. *sigh* Next time, I guess, eh?

What kind of flying fox work would you have him do if you could afford it? A didje, a mural, or somehting else? How would you describe what you want?

He used to have a gallery on the other side of town but it closed, and I only rediscovered it today.

I would like a wall-hanging flyingfox, like his Wiradjuri picture.

Will you get a didjeridoo to go with your blue guitars?

I'm tempted, for sure. Probably not though, as I can't get the hang of the breathing thing on the one we've got yet!

Hi there. This is unrelated to your post, but [livejournal.com profile] mactavish just pointed me in your direction. Your journal looks interesting and I'd love to read about your rescue work, so I've added you. Feel free to add me back if you are so inclined. I tend to talk about horses, not bats, but I have a big heart for all furry creatures.
