Gromit is eating well, but he has an odd cough which sounds like he's popping. I don't know if bats can get colds, but they can get pnuemonia. I've given him a little vet-quality amoxycillian to help him.

He gutsed down a dozen worms but when I tried to give him some water he gave me a "tell me you're joking" look. He's also trying to fly when I get him out of the tent. This is good.

Just how does a bat's "tell me your joking" look look?

Poor little bat! He's going to have to learn that in spite of his harrowing pool experience, water is something he needs. Can't say I blame him.

The description you gave of his cough is awful; I got this cartoon-like vision of a bat that swells and pops like a firecracker.

Bats can cough. Who'd've thought.

Last night on the Animal Planet channel I saw a show about this lady in New South Wales that rescues and takes care of joeys. All I could think about was how they need to do a special about you, because bats are just as cool as joeys. (Though they did show footage of an albino joey that she was caring for, which was neat.)

A lot of the zoo people take joeys home to care for. They always end up with a lot of anumals.

Poor little no-longer-soggy bat. Hopefully his cough is only temporary. Although I, too, am curious what a bat's surely-you-jest look looks like.
