Someone posted a link to an LJ that reposted the "Stella Awards"

I went to that LJ, read all the typical fucking furry anti-human posts, then posted a link to Snopes.com showing it's all an urban legend.

I get called a troll: "gawd you people just love to troll and correct people eh?" is the specific comment.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother trying.

In most cases, you probably shouldn't. The information was readily available; if they don't want to bother checking sources, they are not going to be swayed by you posting them. Such people are a waste of time; they think what they want, right or wrong, and nothing will change that.

You shouldn't read more into that comment than mild annoyance. And the mild annoyance of one person should not be cause for you to re-evaluate your own self-worth.

I posted, after the reponse to you, my own research into the issue; I had seen this list years ago. I spend a fair amount of time debunking silly notions; I try to balance concerns for truth and concerns for feelings. You did fine, and your comments were appropriate.
