My little cold is now an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. I'm on double strength Amoxycillian for the bug, gargleing Listerine for the throat, and sucking down Ventolin and Pulmicort for the lungs.

On the bright side, my Rabies immunology came through. I have over 6 times the required immune thingies I need to keep handling bats. Which is nice.

*hugs* offered -- the only thing I can think of that won't interact badly with either the bugs or the drugs.

Argh. Both you and [livejournal.com profile] elusis have bronchitis. Must be something in the air.

As a veteran of many bouts of URTIs myself, I feel for you. Good on you for going to the doctor and getting meds.

Humidity. For months we've had very dry weather, but now we're having threatening thunderstorms. The humidity jumps, My lungs crap out, and any little bug going around pops in for a visit.

The bastards.

Yeah, I've clearly passed poor Battyden my bug via LJ.

Ugh. That sucks. That's what usually happens to me too when I get a bad cold... :/

Though I'm usually only given the antibiotics...the last time I used some of lathi's Ventolin (I think that's what it was. Athsma stuff.) 'cause my chest was so tight.

Hope you get better soon *hugs*

Get well soon, friend Batty Den.

I don't imagine that the respiratory infection is likely to cross species barriers; a flitter-turned-spitter would be a sorry sight.

I'm sorry you are sick (and taking all that stuff....) but yet again you top out on
my Hero list because of your excellent immunity stats.
You are so lucky - Try ripping up and boiling eucalyptus and steaming over in a towel or hanging upside down under the coming full moon from abranch of a fruit bearing tree.......it'll clear your sinuses....I promise.
Happy Solstice D. Get better soon.

I'm allergic to that one. I'm also allergic to anything in the erythro-family of antibiotics.

However.

Augmentin (the next biggest after Amoxy) has side effects nasty enough to put it on everyone's "allergies" list - it's NASTY. Say no. Ask for Zithromycin (if they want you to do another course after this one) if you don't have ampicillin allergies like I do.

Don't ask how I know this. I'm older, okay?

Get rest. It's the only thing that really works.
