The W98 registry is bloated so I'm going to kill it tomorrow. How do I delete all the files listed in add/remove programs?

That won't work. Uninstalling proggies which have not been programmed properly because MS never really gave away how the OS actually worked. Means that some files, registries actually not get deleted....

Only core is thus:

1. Back up
2. Back up some more
3. Did I mention backing up? :) Seriously.
4. BACK UP EVERYTHING from Favourites, email, etc.
5. Format
6. Install windows 98 as a clean install
7. Install programs, updates, etc, etc. Reset net settings, email.

You have a much faster machine. Actually when I last did it with 98 I was shocked to how fast it actually worked. Then it goes into Elvis mode and gets fat :)

I seem to remember that the registry in 98 can only get to so much size and then it just dies. You know, not able to keep track of things anymore, BSOD's, etc. How long this happens it simple.

1. Don't install demos, programs and uninstalling them will make 98 last a long time.
2. Trying all the new demos and uninstalling them all the time could make 98 only last about 2 weeks, depending on how much you actually do to leave traces of old programs :)
