Around The World In 80 Beers Episode 150*: Cambridge Bitter

The first of a new International edition. I am currently in Cambridgeshire.



Pours a deep mahogany colour with a thin white head. Very little carbonation visible in the glass.

First Sip: Sweet caramlly malts with a slight citrus flavour, followed by nice mild, unassertive hops bitterness that lingers for some time. Mouth-feel is medium with a nice carbonation tingle on the tongue.

Ooh yeah. This is the proper stuff; a nice English bitter. This is the sort of brew I could quaff for quite some time.** This is a very yummy beer. It tastes good from the fridge, and tastes better when the chill has left it, and it leaves a nice warming feeling in the belly. Even the beer-burp is nice.

Good grief. Did I really use the word "unassertive" to describe the hops?
