Those of you who can be bothered with Facebook, and follow me there, will know I have just spent 14 days on a mining camp near Roma, Queensland. And now I am back, with 2 weeks off! I really need this after 13 days of twelve hour shifts.

I have a lot of catching up to do with Livejournal, beerage, and general things.

Oh Mr Cooper! Can you ever make a bad beer?

Coopers Dark Ale

Pours a very dark, opaque brown. The head is thick and tan, and fades gradually to a thick lace. No carbonation visible.

First sip: toasted, slightly sweet malts, with a dark chocolate after-taste. Very mild hops. Mouth feel is slightly creamy with a little carbonation tingle on the tongue. Nice beer burp. The sweet malts grow stronger as the beer warms in the glass.

This is a nice beer. It would make an excellent lunch beer - something to wash down a sausage sandwich. It is one to drink slowly, at cellar temperatures. It gets better as the chill wears away.
