Technology
6 April 2003 22:54After reading Bill Thompson's article on the BBC, I started thinking. I've been using computers since the early 80s, networking, repairing, upgrading, installing and all the others things techos do. I have been up to my armpits in technology for nearly 20 years.
What do I have at home? What technology do I actually own? I have a P2-333 with 300mb RAM. It's on a thin ethernet bus network with my brother's PC, and is connected to a 5 year old scanner.
Last month I bought a DVD player. I have a mobile phone: a Nokia 3110. I've sent 3 SMS messages with it. (checks) 4. No one rings in.
That's about it. No laptops, wireless networks, big tellys, phones that transmits photos, digital cameras, webcams, usb hubs, usb anything, CD burners.
And I own everything I need to have.
