Why the platypus

Not why it is anything, just why.

As hedgegoth and hobbitblue have mentioned, the platypus, a cute cuddly Australian animal, is armed with a poisonous spur.

Actually, only the male is armed with that, and only careless people are spiked by it. By careless I mean the sort of person who picks up a wild animal and cuddles it, and expects it to enjoy that.

The only wild, insane Australian animal that would enjoy a stranger cuddling it is Steve Irwin, and then Mrs Crocodile Hunter would have something to say.

oh well. I suppose I've blown any chance of getting a job at his zoo now.
