Just doing assignments. Java is due on Wednesday, and Data Procassing Systems is due next monday (not tomorrow). Interview is still on for Thurday.

When I Get This Job I can lok at buying my own home. Unfortunately, the house I want to buy is going up for auction in November. I'll miss out on it.

I'm a bit sad about that.

Same lottage as I'm sitting in the middle of now, but much nicer surroundings and more reliable weather. :>

I saw that, and I've no doubt it is... I'm pretty partial to the whole island.. Never have forgiven my parents for chosing -not- to move there when they had the opportunity when I was either quite small or still a glimmer in Dad's eye.

ahhh, just remember one thing batty...

Auction != Sale.. just cos it's up for sale, doesn't mean it will be sold by that date.

unless there is a very high intrest in such things.

"When I say house I mean it was only a hole in the ground covered by an old sheet of tarpaulin, but it was a "house" to us!"- Eric Idle/Four Yorkshiremen/Monty Python

Yow, nice split level there!:) Whatcha gonna graze on it? Or is Scruffy going to get to have it easy in his old age? If I ever win the Powerball I'm gonna have a house all right.

Wow, what a cool place.....too bad you'll miss your opportunity.
It already looks like a sanctuary for bats........is there a sicamore tree in the back yard?
And what price range does a lot like that start at? In Canadian funds?
Can't wait to see your next choice....I am going to start living my homeowning
life vicariously through you. Hope you don't mind!!

There aren't many trees at all around it. If I bought the place I'd use the 68megalitre irrigation allowance to establish a wetlands and to grow the river red-gums that should be there.

It could go for AU$500k (US$250,000ish) except it's on a flood plain. The last floods here reached 3/4 up the ground floor. That will bring the price down a bit.

I don't know what the reserve is, so if the bidding doesn't reach that the sale won't go through. Even so, it could be sold before I save up a deposit.
