There is mould growing on the wall of the room I am in. I don't know where it came from. When I moved in the room had been freshly painted, but, in the months since, the mould has grown through.

It is growing on just one brick. In a wall of white there is one hairy grey rectangle.

Today I pulled the brick out of the wall and took the mould for a walk. It looked so cute with its little red coller. People stopped me in the street to say "Oh! Isn't that a cute looking mould?"

I don't know what to do with it. I think I'll eventually throw it out unless it suddenly grows a huge mammery gland.

How odd. Sounds like something out of a horror story. I love the idea, though. I'm wondering if there might have been something like a pipe or vent that once went through that portion of the wall, and that the resulting hole was filled with bricks, one of which may have been found, lying randomly alone in a damp cellar, or alongside the the damp foundation of the house. Interesting. You might ask the landlord about it. Growing a mammary gland, eh? Now that would be something, in itself, another basis for a horror story, one about a man who becomes enamored of his wall, perhaps even moving his bed so that he get can suck at the teat, late at night, that has begun growing from it. Okay . . . enough!

have you any pictures of this cute bit of mold? for if it is as cute as you say it might be, then I know someone who would be very interested in breeding from it...

Here in Madison they closed the Chavez Elementary School because it had three kinds of mold that made a large number of children ill in 2000-2001. Aspergillus was the primary culprit, but after removal had been done at no small expense more was found growing in a different area of the building than before.

Are you sure it's not some exotic rock plant?
I didn't realize it was mossible to lichen a mold to a pet:D.
