Date: 9 Feb 2017 11:50 (UTC)Funny to think, Australia would be one of those places that would be significantly improved by climate change... ok, the intermediate bit where it's getting hotter would be bad. But once the sea levels rise and flood a big bit of the interior, right where it's hottest, you get a cooling effect from the interior sea, increased rainfall in some of the drier regions, and so on... give it a hundred years, and you have a brand new rain forest where there was nothing but semi-desert scrub land [and not even particularly interesting scrub.] and thanks to that, Sydney looks more like Perth in climatic terms.

Date: 10 Feb 2017 02:08 (UTC)You'd have to build two canals with one-way locks, so the tides bring fresh seawater in trough one canal and flush brined lake water out trough the other, otherwise you would end up with a huge salt lake like the very large one already there.
The centre of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane going under water ... *shrugs* See this big empty shed? It's where I store all my fucks.
