On Sunday I visited the Powerhouse Museum of Science and Technology
Engine No.1 This is one of the first four engines used by the Sydney Rail Company in 1855 (No.3 pulled the first train.) In 1855 the first class ticket to Parramatta was 3 shillings: the equivalent of $60 today. The trip took most of the day. Now, it costs $5 and takes 40 minutes.
