Reduced to drinking canned beer with a widget!

Boddingtons Pub Ale

Pours a clear amber gold, after the charge eventually settled into a large, creamy, pure white head that looks like whipped cream. The head is amazingly stable. Almost no carbonation visible

First sip: Mildly toasted malt flavour with very mild hops that leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin but not watery. Slight carbonation tingle on the tongue Taste improves as the beer warms in the glass.

This is not a bad English pale ale, but the nitro-can kills a lot of the taste. I'm sure this would be better on tap, or in a bottle. As it is, it's a bit ordinary. There are much worse beers out there. On the other hand, there are better beers. This one is a bit ordinary. Drinkable, but not Memorable. One for a really hot summer's day.

It's a bit ordinary in bottles and draft, too, but definitively better than Canned. I didn't even know it *came* in widget cans. Urgh. Like Newcastle, it's on my list of things I will order if there's nothing interesting or otherwise foreign available.
