Chav's have more money and tend to be more aspirational. They ape the well-to-do while despising them at the same time... I guess you could say they're boguns with ambition. [no taste though.]

I also get the impression that Bogans are much more peaceful blokes, more apt to get into a drunken fight because it's fun, without anybody getting seriously hurt, and no sober bystanders being included in the festivities.

Chavs tend to simply hurt people because it's "fun", or "just something to do". Being drunk only makes them dumber-if that's possible-and more vicious.
