I haven't seen many photos of birds taken from directly in front. Does the swallow have more forward-facing eyes than most birds, and does his mouth extend wider than his beak? Or do all birds look like that when viewed from that angle?
This bird looks rather different, even considering it's not quite facing the camera directly:
