Purty! ER.. What is HDR??

High Dynamic Range. You take 3 or more photos ranging from under-exposed to correct exposure to over-exposed, and mash them together into one photo.

Pansies are Nifty!:D

Very, very nice composition on the second pansy shot! Wonderful color.

Colours!

That's HDR and tone mapping for you. Colour and detail that would normally be washed out are preserved.

I'd love to learn how to do that. Can you point me toward a tutorial?

I use this software: http://www.hdrsoft.com/ The new Photoshop can do HDR photos too.

Ooooh. The colors are beautiful. *admires*

Cool!

Which software do you use?

[identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com 2008-06-15 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Photomatix Pro 3. AU$100, compared to AU$799 for Photoshop CSX

Nnnnnngh so jealous [1] because so, so beautiful.

So beautiful.

(For the "can't afford the extra equipment needed or the time required to learn the extra equipment" values of "jealous.")

Impressive! The colours are vivid but there's a slight double image in the full-size version.

[identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com 2008-06-17 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
That's because the camera was hand-held. Even the image stabilizing lens couldn't stop all the movement over three photos.

Woah! Hand-held.
