This is an effort by the Dobbo City Council to stop vandals from drawing grafitti on the bridge. the art is done by convicted vandals doing community service.

LJ-Cut for the big photos.

Ooh. :) And the idea itself is pretty neat, too. :)

Oooo... neat. I've always thought that murals are the best way of deflecting vandalism, and these are particularly nice. Of course, I'm partial to rock art, so I'm a bit biased. ;)

Wowsers:), cool stuff!

Is there such a thing as the grafitti art movement in Australia, or is it all illegal? There are legitimate grafitti artists in the Unbited States. Problem is, for every one of those you have about 100 scrawny little "taggers" who are interested in throwing their dolled up initals (i.e tag) on everything and with anything (paint, permanent marker. glass etching acids). The downtown art store won't sell markers or certain things to minors now unless they can prove being in a university art program . I've seen some awesome grafitti art in Chicago and locally in certain spots, but the taggers alas, outnumber the really good stuff by far.
