I read that most (or all) marsupials have paired heads to their penises to service the paired female uterus but the alternating pairs or four headed penis of the echidna lacks a obvious reason

the swim team efforts of the sperm is what fascinates me... how in the world would sperm get organized to do synchronous swimming?
