The grey lightening ridge and chaos!

I love black opal ... I can't believe I've been to Oz 3 times and I've only seen opal in the windows of shops with BIG Japanese signs in em.

There is a little shop just outside Sydney on the Bells Line Of Road. Plus, Lightning Ridge is only 3 hours away from me.

We talked about heading out to Lightning Ridge, but only so many places one can see. It was between Lightning Ridge and the Jenolan Caves.

So lets see next trip:
Wedding Party
Pearl Boat in the Whitsundays
Fraser Island
Lightning Ridge

and I still haven't seen Ayers Rock, Uluru or Darwin, or The Great Barrier Reef, or...

We really DO need to take a year off to tour Australia.

The black opals are closer, and it's fun to go to Lightning Ridge but it's easier to buy from a shop. It's fun to go to Lightning Ridge AND buy from a shop in the town. 8)

Oh trust me I can buy :D I can't resist ! I love LR but I adore Boulders and Winton and Mintabie and... oh what the hell ANY opals ! They all are "special"...

The trouble is, Winton is a good 16 hour drive away; not something you can do in a day.

But, I do know a shop near Sydney. 8)
