I saw the comet tonight, after the smoke haze and clouds cleared. I raced up to Mugga Hill just outside town and took photos (30sec, Fuji ASA400 film @ f5.6, 2 photos at 28mm, 2 at 90mm) I had to turn autofocus off so I hope my poor eyes got the manual focus right.

Mugga hill is outside the lights of town so the ky is quite dark. The comet is awsome. The tail easily crosses 10% of the sky, and looks like a celestial feather quill pen.

I hope the clouds will clear some night and I'll notice it. I really want to go see it myself.

Have the best

I am really envious. We tried to see it here in the Bay Area and didn't have any luck.

I do consider one of the highlights of my life seeing Halley's Comet in the middle of the Red Centre, with zero light pollution. It was outstanding.

When are you posting photos?

You are fortunate. The last comet of note in my patch of sky was Hale-Bop, and that wasn't much to look at.

It's quite spectacular, isn't it? I saw it here early one morning on the only clear day we had the week it was visible for us.

Halley's was pretty big, but nowhere near as bright and spectacular like this one.
