Polly

The vet just called. He has examined Polly and decided the cut would heal on its own, without sutures. He'll keep her in over-night and give me a call tomorrow at 9 so I can pick her up. She has a temperature right now and will need antibiotics for a few days.

So. Whew.

awwwwwwww pooooor wee thing. *gentle*hugs*polly*

vets around here see all sorts of nasty injuries like that in the beagles that are most commonly used for rabbit hunting - a very popular thing here in Newfoundland.

glad to hear the GoodDog is gonna be O.K

Poor Polly! I'm glad she'll be okay. And please tell her from me that she's a very gooddog for not even growling at the vet.

And have a few extra Calming Thoughts for yourself, because that has to have been awfully upsetting.

Whew! Scary stuff, that. Two of ours got in a fight a month or so ago, and there was a (very minor) facial wound... but wow, yeah, just pissin' blood. Scary stuff.

Glad it was minor!

Poor baby! Mouth wounds bleed a lot, and are very scary to see. I'm so glad it wasn't her eye.

And, speaking from personal experience, they HURT, pretty much non-stop until they're done hurting.

Give the GOODDOG a hug from me and Quel.

Poor Polly! I hope she's feeling better soon. Please give her an ear-scratch from me.
