Date: 15 Nov 2006 21:50 (UTC)When very young I fed him the same meat-mix* I feed the peewees, about every 30 minutes. I got him used to taking food off the stick. Then when he was perching I started dipping his meat into the nectar mix, and got him used to seeing food come out of the nectar. Eventually before feeding I'd poke the stick in the nectar dish, and he started drinking. Now I have a budgie-cage seed dispenser with some of the nectar in it, and miner feeds when he likes. I put 50ml in the feeder and change it every day.
The little bugger still demands to be fed with the peewees, though.
*100g lean mincemeat, 20g Wombroo Insectivore mix, 2 boiled eggs (boiled for 20 minutes.)
