Platypus or echidna?

Yay puggle!

[identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com 2006-10-01 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Echidna. Platypuses are too specialized.

[identity profile] ursulav.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Out of curiousity, do you mean they're too specialized for you to care for (presumably without mad aquarium set-ups) or too specialized for rehab?

[identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
You need specialist training and a top-notch rehab facility, plus the way the law is written only zoos and wildlife parks are permitted to keep them. I could probably keep one for a few days but I'd have to hand it over. They're endangered, whereas the ol' echidna isn't. There's millions of them.

[livejournal.com profile] ngarewyrd and I still think that "Rampaging Puggles" is a good name for a band. :-)

This one has "designer stubble" so it'll be the age Spook was when he died. Photos to come.

no idea x 2. Only echidnas know their sex. No name yet.

Hope you remember to wear armored underwear when handling the little prick(er)--- :D

[identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I won't make that mistake again, I can tell you.

[identity profile] jim-lane.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure you remember that "incident" several times a day--- }-p

Years ago, one of my co-workers brought a puggle she'd just gotten as a pet to work, and I got to hold it for a few moments. Cute little critter, and about as "innocent" as any animal can ever be. I can see how one can get attached to them (especially if one gets impailed upon its spines... *heh!)

;)

[identity profile] azhdragon.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
you know the yanks ... everything to extremes :-)

oh, wait on. ex-treme is like a has-been monotreme, yes?

[identity profile] azhdragon.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
OWWW!

what was that for?

/me is innocent!

[identity profile] jim-lane.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Exotic pet". Don't know if it was even "legal" to have here---but there it was...

[identity profile] dewhitton.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
May have got it surplus from a zoo or wildlife park, but most definitely NOT legal to export.

[identity profile] jim-lane.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Understood. It was the first one I'd seen outside of a zoo, and the first infant one I'd ever seen---period.

Mummy!! ;) you need to get the puggle version of a June Cleaver outfit ;)

[identity profile] ursulav.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Puggle! Puggle! Puggle!

[identity profile] silmaril.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
