Don't complain --- at least it's not dial-up.

They wired everywhere BUT us for either DSL or broadband so I'm stuck with an obsolete line which can't hold a connection.

Better that than nothing.

The only option where I live is dial-up, wireless or satellite. ADSL and broadband by cable are not an option, and I live IN town. When I was on dial-up I was lucky to make 40kb/s, but at least I could hold the connection.

Heh...28.8 max here. Bleh! If I sit long enough, I can watch the data fossilize. None of the other services are offered here and we're in the same boat you are --- Bellsouth doesn't want to share its lines.
