Willy Willy

43*C today. The minions were all up at the truck wash, washing trucks are you do in a truck wash. They didn't mind it so much because of all the water flying all over the place. I decided to move my car out of the sun and into the shed. Just as I opened the door a big willy willy hit the yard. It caught the door and tried to slam it shut. The top corner of the door smacked onto the right hand side of my jaw, about half way between my chin and the bend where it goes up to the skull. Something in my face went... well, not so much "CRACK!" as "squish."

The bruise and swelling make me look like I've been in a fight, when in fact I walked into a door. It hurts a bit.

You seem to be more than a bit accident prone lately.

I hope the swelling goes down soon and that nothing else is damaged.

Feel better soon.

Ow.

I once slammed a car door across my face, sort of -- something startled me as I was closing the door, I jumped, and it put my face in the path of the door. The top corner caught me across my upper lip, cutting (not enough to need stitches, thank ghu) and bruising.

The worst part was that this happened less than two weeks after I got married, and I had to convince a number of people that no, Dale had not hit me, thank you very fucking much.

I hear ya! I know that spousal abuse is prevalent, but jeez, so are accidents. My husband likes to sleep with his arm bent up behind his head, and I cannot tell you how many times I've rolled over and whacked my face right into his elbow. I've bruised several times. People always assume he's hit me (utterly ridiculous if they knew him at ALL), and get that smirky 'yeah sure' look when I tell 'em the truth.

Heh. The one time I was afraid that Dale was going to hurt me was completely out of his control.

See, Dale has epilepsy. And one night, *in his sleep*, he seized while he had his arm linked with mine. For a few seconds until I got untangled, I was afraid he was going to dislocate something.

get better soon! :-)

The portals of doooom are against ye! :-P

Dude, dayum. Now stop that! Hope things heal up quickly for ya.

If I ever find the Doors Of Perception, they'd fall on me.

Not having much luck eh, Den!

Stay away from house movers and things suspended from ropes is my suggestion.

OW! :( *icepack*

Methinks the natural world is cranky in your case!

I've seen dust devils from the window of the cars while touring colorado, Wyoming, and the southwest in general with my folks. I never thought abouit their possible strength.

Get well soon!

Poor dear... I swear you have more very ODD accidents than anyone I know. :( You really need to take better care of yourself

[identity profile] stoda.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair, it's more like a door walked into you.

[identity profile] starcat-jewel.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ow! If the swelling doesn't go down in a day or so with ice packs, you may want to consider seeing a doctor, just to make sure nothing serious is wrong. Where your teeth are potentially concerned, better safe than sorry!

I broke my nose running into an open door once, so I feel your pain.
