Power woes

I have my new blue-tooth phone headset, purchased through Amazon.co.uk, sitting in front of me, uncharged and unchargable because all the stores that sell UK->AU power point adaptors are shut for the holidays.

I wanna use my headset, dammit.

Many shops in Britain (including the supermarket version of computer sellers called PC World) were open at 10 am on the 26th. Just about every shop should be open today.

All the shops except the ones that sell the adaptors are open.

I didn't think Amazon (well at least the US version doesn't) allow the purchase of technology by overseas customers.

they don't. I had it sent to a friend who mailed it on to me. I saved about $80.

Can't cut the cord and splice in an aussie plug?

that's what I would have done anyway.. sure, it'd be kinda dorky looking, but well... no less dorky then having an adaptor for it..

The tynes are on the transformer so I can't cut. I'd have to grind them thinner and twist them to the right angles.

Argh!

The twin scourges of Christmas: "Some assembly required" and "batteries not included". Fie upon the shuttered shop that thwarts the eager listener!

Boo to them! BOO I say!
