WOO HOO!

Aunty ABC has picked up The West Wing for 2006! They'll be starting at Series 4and will be showing it commercial free in a consistant time slot. HA! In your face, Channel 9 with your late night dodgy time-slots.

Gee what a shock... Channel 9 putting greatly written shows in crappy time slots to show sports

That way Channel 9 could control when the well written shows were run.

If they hadn't bought them, some other channel may have been able to run them in opposition to their sport shows, and that would upset the ratings figures and thus cut the prices Nine could charge for advertising during the "oh so important" sports shows.

Have you EVER watched The Footy Show? I haven't. That's the sort of show you get when you give boofheads and bogans air-time.

The only time I see that program is when I'm stepping through channels. However, "ACA", "Funniest Home Videos", and "The Footy Show" are the kind of shows that the usual Channel 9 audience prefers when the cricket or football aren't being broadcast.

Channel 9 isn't aiming for a thinking audience.

Dear old Aunty gets it right - advertising free West Wing.

If only they'd get the new season of Lost. I'd never have any reason to change the channel from ABC to anything.
