Date: 7 Oct 2005 02:28 (UTC)I smiled warmly at his dad's
response/dilemma...and my reaction was to hug him. It
sounded so lovingly familiar. My father, who loved his
little Abilene(you), did NOT like cafeteria, buffets,
order/assemble yourself places. He wanted to be served much
as he was at home - with grace and love and without having to
make tedious decisions. Raised hungry, it never occurred to
him to not eat what was put before him. This does not mean
that he didn't have preferences. He always took lunches to
the factory. I always thought that it was a way to save
money. Apparently it was what he preferred! Loved that
and wish that he had lived long enough for you to know his
warmth, generosity, gentleness, kindness and love. He was
one of a kind.
Much love, Mom
