23 June 2005 14:34Looks like Winter is here. It's snowing just down the road*, in Orange. The roads to Sydney are closed. Temperatures here MIGHT reach double figures but I doubt it. It's snowing, but Dubbo's altitude is too low for it to land, so it melts on the way down and lands as a bitingly cold drizzle.
Drizzle is a funny word.

Batty question
Date: 23 Jun 2005 10:24 (UTC)Only my sister believes she has one roosting in her chimny behind the (unused) fireplace during the day because they couldn't find anything during the evening and can hear flappy noises during the day. Sounds like a largish body and not a micro bat.
That is the theory anyway - most large bats in the Sydney area tend to roost in trees - and a colony is pretty hard to miss.
Any thoughts?

Date: 23 Jun 2005 10:36 (UTC)The odd flappy sound began again this morning (which was what made them think it might be something nocturnal like a bat).
