Job Interview

The job might not happen. On the phone he was all keen to see me, but once there he said he was after someone with practical hands-on MS 2000 Server and Novell experience. I only wanted the repair tech job but that was only a part of it.

But at $35k I don't think he'll get the netGuru he's looking for.

you might still get it y'know batty, it's not THAT hard to learn all the stuff he wants, specially if you're doing the course you're doing now.

that, and I agree, he won't get a _good_ NetGuru for anything near $35K

I hesitate to bring this up, but do you think there's any chance it might have been anti-fat prejudice? I've never seen you, but you do describe yourself as a "short fat bastard", and that coupled with the sudden change of tone once you were FTF makes me suspicious.

he's not _that_ fat.

just cuddly. ;-)

and I don't think that's as rampant in oz as elsewhere, and particularly not towards guys, and especially not towards guys in the computer industry, who nearly all seem to have at least a few extra kilos. (except the young ones who wear death-metal tshirts and are as thin as rails. bastards).

I don't wear death metal t-shirts <.

Sounds like a cheap bastard.

One of those ******** that thinks down turns in the tech job market means they can get first rate skills for cut rates and that desperation will drive job seekers to accept any slave wages job conditions.

You're probably better off without it, although I know... it still sucks.

My old boss at a former job is looking for someone with fairly specialized experience but he wants to pay them "entry level" salary. He's a fool, as ar e many bosses.
