This is Serious Mum (aka TISM) are a band highly critical of almost everything, from the Government to the Sporting Culture to Drugs to Celebrity Status. They appear on stage in ski masks so no one knows their true identiy, and are almost unknown outside Aus.

Their hits have been I'm Interested In Apathy, Martin Scorsese is Really Quite A Jovial Fellow, Hot Dogma, All Homeboys Are Dickheads, He'll be No Ol Man River (about River Pheonix), Give Up For Australia, Greg The Stop Sign, I Might Be A Cunt But I'm Not A Fucking Cunt, and The Extreme Sport You Haven't Tried.

And it looks like they're having a go at the Beatles.

I saw them in concert years ago at the Byron Bay Blues Festival.

They did an encore, came on stage with huge balloon things on their heads and white gowns like the KKK. They started clapping and stamping their feet and got the crowd involved, then shouted "Now you've been fucked by TISM" and went off stage without performing.

The crowd had no idea what to do, we just kind of stopped clapping and wandered away. Classic psychology. Was truly brilliant.

I love them.

They sounds *perfect* for my snarky moods.

The ones where The Dead Kennedys are the nly thing that cheer me up.

If they can get AC/DC and Midnight Oil 'round here, why the hell do they look at me like I'm daft?

One of these days I'll find clerk without their head up their ass who is only interested in when the next Slither video is coming out. OI.

If you like Dead Kennedys, you'll like This Is Serious Mum. They have the same mix of anti-establishment, anti-government and anti-social songs and lyrics. Tism aren't Punk, though. They used to be a sort of thrash-rock until they discovered turning techno was a great way to take the piss out of the style. Sounds like you need a care package put together. TimTams & TISM.
