Photos of that car turned up in an automotive forum that I moderate.
I'll admit that it's a cruel thing to do to a car, but as a rolling attention getter for a guy that has a company that makes movie props, it is pretty good advertising.
Hey, I saw that car! I was down in LA working on a film project, and Shawn came by once in a while to help out. The car is a little less impressive up-close (it's not shiny, darn it!), and Shawn insists he's not an SF-geek, but still... it's cool. :) Plus he said he's planning to get some servos into R2-D2 so he'll swivel his head around appropriately, and emit the proper beeps and boops. You just gotta respect that.
Yup, that's the place. Who says good can't come from cranky, obnoxious evil? Well, probably no one, but they should say that. It's cool, and would fit on a bumper sticker.

So that is why he chopped up his poor defenceless little car.
And here I was thinking "what a hideously expensive hobby"
Makes more sense if you put it on the company books under "advertising".

I like the Mini-ITX reference as well. Case/Car modding at the same time.

The car would look Very Cool if it was polished a little.
