(CNN) -- After traveling five years and 2.3 billion miles, a speeding NASA space probe pounced on the shimmering tail of a comet Friday, signaling it trapped tiny space dust to bring back to Earth and snapping rare, closeup pictures of a celestial body.

Back in 2 years.

It boggles my mind (then again, so do GPS units) that they could plan and aim something so far ahead of time, to go so far away, and come back after having taken beautiful pictures and collected samples! Of course, the European Mars probe is "MIA." *That* will teach them not to use American standards... 50Hz, 220 volt line current; PAL TV format, dring on the wrong side of the road... *Sniffs contemptuously*
