A squirrel did that over here. Went into a electrical power house in the street. Got zapped by 10,000volts as it was being converted down to 230volts.

Died instantly but took the power down in the street.

No other area was down. Gotta love the way our system protects other systems from going down.

Now if only we could stop those DIY'ers from drilling into electrical wires.... :p
