The Australian Wheat Board says US claims questioning Australia's dealings with pre-war Iraq on wheat are designed to improve America's export opportunities.

The Financial Review reports several US Congressmen from wheat-growing areas of the US have called on Australia to prove it was not paying kickbacks to the former regime, before any free trade agreement between the countries is signed.
