That's better

I feel a lot better now, after a long night's sleep after a long road trip. I won't say it was uninterrupted. Every road trip of more than a few hours triggers nightmares in which I am in a series of horrible accidents involving a white Mercedes on a strip of road near Townsville. The accidents used to all happen while I'm trying to avoid the Merc: I hit trees, spin out, roll over... you name it, I crash in that way. And then I wake up, go to sleep, and crash again. Some years ago I gained a measure of control over the nightmares by deliberately aiming for the white Merc, and I remember feeling happy that I didn't crash.

Once my nights were a constant round of crashing and waking convinced I was dead. Last night I remember just three near misses and I still woke with the adrenalin rush you get from dangerous things, but I wasn't dead. I think the white mercedes is giving up its post road trip torments.

ah. nightmares. totally relate. i am never able to recall what scares me, i just wake up running from my bed, usually involving snatching the cat on the way and find myself holding said feline protesting loudly like a set of bagpipes rigid with fear in wherever i end up. these go thru stages, and I am having a particularly bad patch at the moment, precluded by God knows what. But exhausting nonetheless.
hope you get an uninterrupted night's sleep soon..

btw, were you ever IN an accident near Townsville to preempt these dreams?

No, never in an accident with a white Mercedes, and never in an accident in Queensland. I don't know why that stretch of road or that car. These nightmares usually only last for a night or two, and only happen after a road trip. I expect tonight I'll be back to my regularly scheduled insanity.

Have you had a doctor examin you for sleep apnea? A mate sufferes from it and has horrible nightmares, and wakes exhausted the next day. He leaps from bed to escape danger as well.

Only for a night or so, then the usual mob (Ships, Bugs, dragons and so on) will arrive.

and the baileys will help..

Say hello to Maverick for me, its' been far too long!!

Mav is resting with his family afetr their big adventure. The stories take place over a long period of time. Remember, little Amraan was hatched in story 3 and turned 8 by story 10. So this is a between-stories period.

BTW, your last "Mavrik" short is a dead link...

(Haven't heard from you in a while. Hope you're well!)

I know. I was distracted by Other Things before I could finish HTMLing that story. I'll be there soon.

I'm well, busy, broke, drawing and writing. No change there.
